Yep John. An example (which just happened five minutes ago. very timely.) 

I'm practicing my mandolin & making the usual racket when my daughter
comes up and says "Dad! Is that mandolin more important to you than your
daughter dying of hunger?" She apparently had asked me to help her fix a
snack & I, um, didn't notice. The kid resorts to melodrama when the need
arises. Mandolin's pretty engrossing, especially, I guess, when you're
still struggling to find the right notes. Gotta pay close attention or
things get really ugly really fast. Of course, there are people hereabouts
who think they have a better claim on my attention than this hunk of wood
& stings :-)
